Cold Wars & Covid-19

March 9, 2020:
Dear HMGS Members and Guests:

At this time, HMGS is moving forward with Cold Wars 2020, and we look forward to celebrating the best in miniature gaming with you in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We encourage attendees to continue to plan to attend our convention if they feel well. However, we do ask all attendees to monitor their condition prior to travel, as well as review the CDC travel guidelines

HMGS Safety & Health Strategy:

  • We ask that Cold Wars 2020 be a handshake-free convention and recommend a fist bump or elbow tap.
  • Personal hand sanitizers that contain 62% isopropyl alcohol will be distributed at the Convention registration desk.
  • Hand Sanitizer dispensers that contain 70% isopropyl alcohol will be located throughout the building.
  • Basic hygiene reminders will be included around the convention
  • Safety signs and placards will be displayed prominently throughout the venue.

HMGS is committed to providing a safe environment to all guests and we are closely monitoring the activities of the coronavirus. HMGS is also actively monitoring CDC updates for further information.

For any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at director@coldwars.org

March 4. 2020:
Dear HMGS Members & Guests,

As you are aware, there is increased concern about the corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak in the United States.  As a potential attendee at Cold Wars 2020, we want to assure you that the health and safety of people attending our convention is our highest priority.  At this time, all convention events will continue as planned on March 12-15, in Lancaster, PA.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most people in the United States have little immediate risk of exposure to the virus at this time.  In addition, we have a U.S. and Canada-based audience, which further limits exposure, and the U.S. government has not imposed any meeting or domestic travel restrictions.

The CDC has several resources available on its website, including information on symptoms, prevention and treatment; situation updates in the United States and abroad; and specific information for communities, schools and businesses.

We will be monitoring the situation closely and taking every precaution onsite to ensure the health and safety of our attendees.  Please reach out if you have any questions.
