Another week another batch of minis painted! This week I finished off a platoon of Catachan Jungle Fighters for Game Workshop, a bunch of armor for Epic and some scatter terrain from Death Ray Designs.
The Jungle Fighters were started last year for the Historicon painting competition so I was glad to get them off the desk. I finally got around to them because one of my boys saw them sitting on the desk and asked if I could paint them for his use in This is Not a Test. How could I say no to that? I used multiple skin tones, starting at different ranges in the Reaper Miniatures flesh line. I also used the Wicked Elf Miniatures Jungle plants to church up the bases. I used the tattoo water slide transfers that came with the box. About half of them managed to stay on once I varnished them, which as they are almost 25 years old I guess is pretty good!
Last week I painted up two dumpsters from Death Ray Designs. I didn't realize that I actually had a third dumpster so I painted that one as well as these barricades as well. I sprayed the bases black, half of the barricades white and half orange, assembled them up and weathered them. If you know me you know I can't pass up a chance to weather things, even something as small as these pieces.
Finally I painted up some Imperial Guard Epic miniatures. I'm using these for Apocalypse 40,000. As I plan on using these for Imperial Guard, Traitor Guard, and Genestealer Cultist Guard I painted the tanks gray with purple and orange unit markings. I figure those colors would look good for all three uses!
